All Ages What is the perfect time for PE classes?

When in college, PE classes have different times. There are PE classes that take place first thing in the morning, there are PE classes that take place in the afternoon, and there are PE classes that are scattered in-between other classes.

What do you think is the best time for PE classes to take place?

I'd personally go for afternoon PE classes when all of my other subjects are through...

I personally feel like the best time for PE classes is the morning. It gets your blood pumping and your brain ready for some cognitive function. But then again considering that most high school and middle school students are expected to sit down everyday with no real activity, it would be nice to have some physical activity in the middle or at the end of the day so they are not as tired when they go home and have to do homework or other extracurricular activities.

That would depend on the age group and the type of PE you are referring to. Personally I think that there should be three PE classes a day. One in the morning where the whole school participates together to help warm them up and get their minds going, like Ti Chi or something. One mid-day to get their blood flowing from sitting for most of the morning in classes, like a sport or something. And lastly, one in the afternoon to calm them down and relax them before they go home, like Yoga or something.

I agree with this. Different age groups require different activities and intensity of such activities.

When I went to college I only took weight training and basic self defense. I did not feel that it differ that much. I only saw that the instructors were not as involved. I was not that close to the ones in high school.

Basic self defense classes would be great for kids. It teaches discipline as well as how to defend yourself. I think that would be a positive activity for schools to include in their programs.

I think the perfect time for PE is either in the early morning or in the late afternoon. The sun isn't harsh during those times and the students can enjoy playing. But if I have to choose one, I'd pick the late afternoon as well wherein all my classes are done. It's hard to have to change my uniform and freshen up after PE class. We don't have shower rooms in our school so we have to make do with just using a towel or wipes to clean up ourselves.

In the morning, when everyone is more alert and energy levels are high. I find that kids really get a boost if they do so and you notice it through out the day. They really get loosened up.

Exercise physiology and other forms of natural sciences tell us that certain times throughout the day can lead to more effective workouts. We also have to take into consideration the activity, the energy needed for it, and what is involved afterwards. For example, I had an Anatomy & Physiology professor who absolutely swore by Intermittent Fasting and hitting the gym at 5:oo AM to lift weights. He said that that was when the growth hormone was highest. Plus, intermittent fasting helped him control his blood sugar easier. Some people like working out at night, because they can just hit the shower and go to bed afterwards. Others do yoga mid-day, when they feel the most balanced.

Still, exercise is exercise, no matter when you do it. I've had PE classes/training sessions morning, afternoon, and night. Personally, I've seen no honest difference between these times... other than me needing to warm up longer in the morning.

They should take place after every 3 lessons as is practical depending on the timetable of different classes. One in midmorning and another one in the afternoon is enough to keep the batteries charged. Of course this also depends on the weather. More PE classes should be held during hot weather than vice versa. This is the time most students feel sleepy and distracted as I have observed.

Well I don't know of a lot of people that would get up at 5AM to workout. In fact I don't know of anyone that would.

I would also like to attend afternoon PE lessons. That is usually when am tired with classwork and don't feel like reading again. Morning hours should be set for reading alone.
