Well-nigh three scores years ago,
I became another number of this teeming race,
Not that I want to make a hue and furor,
But am I destined to be just another nameless face?
Now that the race is more than half-done,
And the journey is on the descending slope,
I'd say it's been a lot of frolic and fun,
And I face the inevitable end with a heart full of hope.
That somehow, in some manner, along the way,
Amidst all the hubble and bubble, and chaotic disarray,
I have left my mark, a note of color, in the shades of gray,
I have shown that I have come, I have gone and I have had my day.
