Video tutorials or a music teacher for learning a musical instrument?

Today it is very easy to find useful things to learn on the internet.
Have you tried learning a musical instrument by watching a video tutorial or taking lessons with a music teacher?
If you have experienced both, which do you prefer?

In my own experience it's been nicer for me learning an instrument with one on one tuition. I know a lot of people seem to be able to self-teach with YouTube videos and the like, but I always like being able to ask questions!

I guess in short, it probably depends on the individual as to which method is best.

I am not a music lover but there is one in the family who made self study in how to make musical arrangements. It's not really from the video but from the program itself. Now he can make music using that software as if he is playing musical instruments. It is not easy but once you get the drift of composing music with that software it would be easier as you go along. However learning a musical instrument is only for the music-minded.

I guess you would benefit from both you need a teacher to like get familiar about the basics of music, and also watching tutorials on YouTube or whatever website that teaches something about music can make you learn fast.

I, think both ways contributes help for anyone who wants to learn playing instruments. The advantage on real teacher is the chance you are taught in detail, you can asked question and you are corrected. Playing it in real mood adds interest and excitement. When it comes to video tutorial especially in Youtube, you need to find good quality tutorial. It must be well explained for easy understanding.

I've experienced both. For beginners it would be best to hire a teacher for it because you'll learn a lot of tips and proper handling. You can try going for a few months, and then just switch to self learning via vids online.

I only experienced a music teacher to teach me how to play guitar.

I can't speak from experience as I have no musical inclination. I love to sing (to the consternation of everyone around me) but I can't play any instruments. I would, however, prefer a tutor because of the hands-on approach. You can then learn more and improve your skills from videos on the internet as learning can never be too much.

It's better to have a music teacher because he knows what things may enhance your knowledge about music instruments on my part I don't have a music teacher, I learned guitar three tutorial videos which are so hard to me to learn because some stream is quite good but I like a teacher because he knows what to do if you're a beginner.

Absolutely in every case a music teacher! Especially if you want to become a professional. If you try self-learning you won't be able to become a professional, so now it depends on your goal - for the bedroom music instrumentalist, you might not need (however, I think every person wants to become better and better at their instrument, no matter of their goal). BUT, in order to stay motivated, you will have to find a teacher. A good pedagogue can't be beaten by nothing.

Also, if you find a teacher, it will be much easier for you to find gigs, as the teacher will be finding them for you. Another benefit from getting a teacher is you will likely find like-minded people who also share you passion for music and playing an instrument.

Not to say that finding a good pedagogue will not only teach you how to play, but also the ergonomics of the instrument. This is something extremely important, often overlooked by students, but in the end, this is what makes the good instrumentalist good, and the bad instrumentalist bad.

I have experience both leaning an instrument online and with a teacher. From my experience I just prefer learning it online on thing is that you can access it anytime and its free while leaning it from a teacher may cost you. There are a lot of advantages and disadvantages but I just prefer watching it on the internet since it is just free and easy, you just need to find videos that is easy to catch up and it is in a step by step form.
