Which novel or short story has your favorite twist ending? Mine has to be the ending to Fight Club. The protagonist finds out that he is also Tyler Durden(split personality) and he has to fight himself to stop bombs from blowing up nearby buildings.
 
I've seen the movie, but you should really warn people about spoilers. I know it's implied when you're talking about twists, but it's still a good idea.

That said, [SPOILERS]

I don't know if it really counts, but the reveal at the end of the last Harry Potter book about Snape and Lily Potter was a pretty sharp blow. Really effective writing, right there. I may have cried. A lot.
