Philosophical Question: The River

If you could have a river filled with anything..what would it be?
--this river always refills when it gets empty.

I'm guessing that you're looking for a deeper answer than "skittles" . . .

I suppose a closely related question would be, Is there anything that you cannot have too much of?

I was asked this question and I thought it an interesting puzzle to ponder. All answers are welcome, but I think your assessment of the question is quite right.

I think if I would wish for a river filled with food. So that all people specially my family would never feel hungry at all. All will have their needed nutrition and hunger will just be another word in history.

Answering it literally, I would want a river filled with golds or diamonds that we could sell for money and so that we could be able to buy all the necessities in this life. An endless supply for everything important in this life is what I would want.
Water in the river flows continuously and therefore water there is continuously changing.

It depends on where the river is situated. If it was in an area that was devastated by pollution or war, I'd have clean water. If it was in a forest, I'd have water also. If it was in the middle of the city, I'd have flowers... It's a very abstract question, isn't it? I might as well just say "I'd like the river to be filled with apparition magic, so that it could turn into anything I want in unlimited amounts" :D

I would want a river filled with love and truth, because without those things, life is really not worth living. I am assuming that we're not talking the vitals of life here, such as water, food and money, but the things that make life worthwhile, and without which you can't enjoy life as you would want to live it. If there is love and truth in your life, then you are truly blessed. Without those things, the rest is meaningless.

I'd like a river full of ideas. The continuous flow of thoughts would become the inexhaustible source of energy. On its shores would rest the tired minds of humanity. Its waters feed into the various fields of knowledge. At the bottom of that river would rest the primary essence of dreams and we swam on its surface, drenched with our own existence. Maybe it sounds too abstract, but is the best I can do, imagine. :)

If I could have a river filled with anything, I would want a normal river.

The river is a valuable resource. Our most basic necessities are food and water. The river provides water in the form of running, fresh water. It also provides various fishes that I can possibly catch with my bare hands. If the river is the only thing I am allowed to have, then unfortunately, I will have to eat it raw. If it is the only thing though, there hopefully wouldn't be anything dangerous to me such as parasites and diseases. The rocks that flow with the water can be used however I want. They can provide shelter, or I could make tools out of them. For my vegetable supply, I hope I could get seaweed or some water vegetation.

Rivers or bodies of water are habitats in themselves. Although a river wouldn't be as resourceful as an ocean, I'm pretty sure I could live off a river.

I guess if I could only have a river of something, I would want a living ecosystem I could adapt to, and reasonably, a river would fit perfectly as a river.

I would love to have a river filled with knowledge. All of the secrets of the universe, everything that science has yet to discover and ever will discover. Understanding all the mysteries of creation, how things work. Knowledge is the only true power, the one thing that affects the entire world permanently when shared.

Maybe I'd like to have a river filled with faith. So when I start losing faith in myself, in others, or in God, I'd know that I wouldn't run out of it.

I'd say I'd like a river full of water because I love to swim. But I also would love a river full of money so I don't have to work anymore, or a river filled with Time. There is so much I want to do and I feel like there's too little time to accomplish all this. :D

I guess the answer would be 'Something that is essential to everyday life and is never considered too much'. Time? Money? Life? Health? Fountain of Youth, anyone?

I would have a river full of just water. That is what a river is.

Can it be something a little more abstract than chocolate, wine or fresh water? Becuase my initial response is health or healing ability in its purest form.
