Military training for high school

Most students I know are not comfortable with military training in school like the PMT which is the preparatory military training for high school. They say that the military training is just a means of abusing the lower ranked students. But the government has a good purpose for the military training to give the students a sense of loyalty to the country. What do you think should be implemented for military training, in high school or in college?

I, think it's fine to bring back the military training. This is a good preparation for students who wants to proceed to military academy. They get to experience and balance before deciding. I understand that there are controversies attached but in most case they are protected. This will also give discipline to every student who will join the basic preparatory training. I also attended PMT in my secondary years and it was a tiring activity. But, I learned from every training.

It is good for those who are interested. Basic physical exercise would be helpful for all students but military training is something out of the league for most students. Only those who are interested should be given military training. Not everyone has the physical built up to take the training exercises and often times, it can result in a disaster if the student cannot cope up with the tasks that are way more difficult beyond what he had expected.

Military Training is also good for discipline and responsibility. It teachers kids to acknowledge and even follow authority. I think this is a good way for kids to learn. I had military training for 4 years. It helped a lot, not only did it help keep me fit but it taught me a lot of lessons.

Military training should not be made mandatory. Not everyone will be attending military school, and it's still possible to instill discipline through other methods. The students who are willing to undertake ROTC or other similar programs should definitely be allowed, but for most part, there ought to be autonomy of choice when it comes to extracurricular school activities.

I have acquaintances who can attest to the pervasiveness of power-tripping and abuses perpetuated by 'senior' student officers. I've sat in several talks with different school principals where parents have made formal complaints against high ranking officers due to their excessive acts. No patriotism should be born of fear and indoctrination.

For me, we should make the military training mandatory for high school. Military training will teach students the importance of discipline and responsibility. The main lesson that the students will learned to it should be patriotism. Love to their own country and people living to it.

I'm not better for it because some people or officer in my high school days abused their private C.A.T's which if you see it its so hard like marching in sunset, 100 pushups and also I don't the hair cut regulation in my part its so hard that'sIdidn't join that thing if they want us to do that in forcing to join that shit I think I will fight for my rights as a student.

I remember enjoying our military training during our high school years. It was really tiring, I must say, but the discipline, the values and the enjoyment through the camaraderie are irreplaceable. I was just lucky back then that we had disciplined senior officers.

I underwent military training in college and I didn't like it at the beginning. In the second year, however, things changed and u started enjoying it.It instils discipline and responsibility in learners.

I'm against any kind of military intervention towards civilians . Military and citizenship should be kept separated, people don't want to get involved in war, if you are interested in military stuff it should be your own choice.

It is good for students. Other that training and education, the experiences you'll gain from being in the military are important to any job. Teamwork and management skills are an integral part of the cohort dynamic in the military. Even if you're not given the opportunity to lead your fellow soldiers, you will gain important knowledge about becoming a leader as you are lead by powerful, educated officers.

I think it's best that military training is introduced during high school. This ensures that discipline and nationalism are instilled to the students at an early age. It may be tedious for them but their country will benefit from it if there are unanticipated attacks from different countries.

For me, I think it should be taught during high school, as at this age, students already have a developed understanding. Many countries, including Korea and Israel, require military service or training for students. This requirement teaches young people discipline, respect for authority, independence, and self-reliance.

Military training is implemented here in our country during high school. It's very great really since it teaches kids at a young age how to be disciplined and nationalistic. I just hope that what they learn in high school will still be with them once they venture into the real world.

I dont see anything wrong on the idea of military training in high school. In fact in korea a male individual should serve a 2 year service in the military. It is a requirement by their government.

I think that military training should be made compulsory in all the schools. However, it is very necessary to monitor the students and see that there is no ragging or abuse happening in the school premises. Military training does inculcate a lot of discipline and fitness in the students. It also does help in developing respect and love for the Nation.

My country doesn't do that in school, thankfully military service isn't compulsory here like it is in some countries. I personally don't think it should be instructed at all. To me it should be a personal choice if one wants to join the military, not something that is mandated by a government. Just my two cents, though!

A couple of years ago, when a new constitution was being drafted in our country, some politicial parties said there should be compulsory military in the high school. However, the provision was left out when ther was an ourcry from media, public and other political parties. I do not think there should me military training mandatory. Not every kid is fit for military training

I agree that not all students are capable of undergoing military training but there are other positions that can be available for them like being a quartermaster who handles the logistics in the office or medic personnel who stays in the clinic. Maybe this military training in school is a hot issue worldwide but we cannot go against the wishes of the government. Over here it is mandated by law in the college level but optional in high school which is quite good enough.
