Is there an outside to space?

This is a tough question and requires serious contemplation of what "now" is.

As we shall see, the concept of time has no meaning before the beginning of the universe. This was first pointed out by St. Augustine. When asked: What did God do before he created the universe? Augustine didn't reply: He was preparing Hell for people who asked such questions. Instead, he said that time was a property of the universe that God created, and that time did not exist before the beginning of the universe. [Stephen Hawking, A Brief History of Time (New York: Bantam, 1988), p. 8]
It is the same with space. As I understand it the dimensions of space and time were created for the universe to exist within "NOW" which is a quality of "being" beyond its confines.

Very interesting. We live in several dimensions--width, height, depth, space, and time. What if we were not constrained by one or more of the dimensions? If we were not constrained to space, we would be fully in all places at once. If we were not constrained by time, we would be present during all times.

This is actually something that I've thought of quite a few times. I wonder what actually is outside of space if the is one and what's there.

Yeah, I totally agree with this. I was thinking about parallel universes, but they're still occupying space, right? Ugh, this is making me confused. :P

The Euclidean Theory states that space is itself a combination of height, width and depth leaving only time as the fourth component - 3 spatial and 1 temporal - in a continuum that might very well loop back upon itself. String Theory goes and makes that simple model much more complex, with 11 or even 26 dimensions to deal with.

Since time slows the faster a body travels, could we not travel fast enough to stop time, or even reverse it, until we could get an answer as to what happened in the beginning?

Nobody really knows...thinking about space/other life is mind blowing! I hope I live long enough to see some sort of explanation...but likely we will never know. Awesome things to ponder, though :)

You know I have wondered this too. What if there is no real outside to space. I don't even think you can define it or cap it off, because its neverending.

Yes, an even larger realm of only dynamic energy and ultra light. There is no darkness outside of our universe, it is just the opposite of space. Our universe is dark and full of matter but the realm beyond the universe is bright and full of energy. :) The dynamic realm is a multidimensional realm of unknown dimensions, possibly limitless dimensions. Nothing material or physical can exist there, not even energy that exist in our universe can exist there in its present state.

I look at it this way. When a man steps into a puddle his shoe print is the size of the space you see in the mud. This is the same as the universe is in size. Whomever made it has an infinite size shoe. Assuming you believe in the creation theory.

I always wondered this too, I also wondered that maybe outside the space there is God watching as holding the earth. When I was a kid, whenever I think of the space I always think that there is God who made us looking us from the above, we are like ants to our God where in he can see all of us. This is just what I think but we are all not sure what is outside the space which is very interesting to find out.
