English If you could be instantly fluent in any language, what would it be?

I speak French, Spanish and Italian, and it is my dream to one day be fluent in all of them. However, there are loads of other languages I'd like to learn. I think it would be very useful to be fluent in Mandarin, for example. However, although that seems like a practical option, I'd love to be able to be instantly fluent in German or one of the Scandinavian languages as well, simply because I love the way that they sound.

What about you?

For me, it would be the japanese language! There's so many japanese comic and tv shows that I wish I can understand without relying on subtitles! As time goes by, you slowly start to understand the language but it is still not enough for me! I wish I can read well in Japanese too!

I know this is a basic language class in the US, and I've taken this class ever since I was in 2nd grade, but as of today, I don't remember a thing.

I want to be fluent in Spanish. I think the language sounds beautiful and I loved Mexico when I went there. I really want to go back because that was an incredible experience.

If I could be instantly fluent in a language it would be French, definitely. This is a language that is used in a lot of parts of the world, is beautiful, and yet has a very difficult grammar structure that I doubt I will ever be able to master.

Arabic. I love how it sounds and how it is written. I also love the food and culture. I would cry with tears of joy if I woke up speaking the language.

That's way too difficult to decide. I wish I were fluent in Japanese, for sure. There's a growing interest in this language in my country and I like it. I've liked it ever since I'd heard it spoken several years ago. However, this is not the only language I wish to learn. Surely, it's one of the many modern languages I like, but I also have a fascination for ancient languages. Of course, you can't speak Latin or Ancient Greek, or even Sanskrit and Old English, but that's where my true interest is. In the history and the forgotten.

Instantly fluent in my choice of language would be a dream come true. I would choose Italian! I've always desired to travel to Venice, Italy for at least a month visit. Really soak up the culture there. But I will really need to speak the language to fully communicate with the locals. I've even bought the Rosette Stone Italian 5 level set. One day I'm going to discipline myself enough to successfully get through all the lessons. Wish me luck!

French!
As someone living in Europe I think it would be the best choice, I already speak my mother language and English and I studied German so I do not find it hard at all, but french is something I really would like to know.

When I was in high school I took two years of Latin and two years of Spanish. I live in the desert southwest now and there are a lot of people who immigrated here from Mexico. Many of those people have no interest in learning the English language, even though they now live in an English speaking country. They speak Spanish to their children in public and at home. I love the language and would be delighted if I could become fluent in Spanish or Italian.

When I visited Europe and Israel, the little knowledge I had of the Spanish language along with expressive movements with my hands helped me communicate with the natives!

The first language that came to my mind is French. I have tried studying it before, but compared to other languages I have tried to learn, this one is the toughest. So yes, this would be the language I would want to be instantly fluent in.

Well I'm a native English speaker but I can also speak French, Italian and Spanish. The languages I'd most like to learn are Japanese and German, but...I don't have any reason to so I think the motivation is a factor in why I haven't already.

I lived for a couple of years in Italy and Spain so learned their languages, and at school I took French passing with a grade A but then also went to college and got a further qualification in that as I felt it was left not complete (if that makes sense?)

Seeing as I don't intend to move to Germany or Japan, I've no real need to so it's just something I'd like to get round to doing if and when I get the chance.

I would love to be fluent in these languages:

1. French.
2. German.
3. Japanese.

That's about it really. My dream is to visit these countries while being fluent in their languages as well. Ahh, such a far off dream in terms of money and time. Haha! But yeah, I can do it in the future. I'm hoping so!

Everyone needs a dream and traveling to these places is a lot easier, and a lot cheaper than you'd actually think.

When it comes to learning the language that can also be done relatively quickly although becoming fluent is a lot harder.

Frеnсh.
I hаvе lоng sаid thаt if I hаd dеvоtеd а frасtiоn оf thе timе I hаvе wаstеd lеаrning hоw tо usе sоftwаrе thаt I nо lоngеr nееd, I wоuld bе fluеnt in Frеnсh. аs is, I саn gеt аlоng аs а tоurist.

I triеd аrаbiс аt оnе pоint аnd it wаs just tоо diffеrеnt fоr mе tо wrаp my brаin аrоund. I'd lоvе tо wаkе up аnd disсоvеr thаt I'd skippеd thе hаrd pаrt аnd simply knеw thеsе еxtrеmеly widеly-spоkеn lаnguаgеs.
аnd yеs, I knоw thеrе аrе sеvеrаl mаjоr diаlесts оf bоth оf thеsе lаnguаgеs. In my fаntаsy, I wаkе up knоwing аll оf thеm.

I am a Filipino. Our medium of instruction in the classroom is our National Language which is Tagalog or popularly known as Filipino. And English as a foreign language is our second medium of instruction. This is where I did best in speaking and in writing. Most of the Filipino students are striving hard to be fluent in spoken English. In my college days, I was compelled to learn Spanish as the foreign language required by the Department of Education. This is in compliance with the order of the DepEd for there were several manuscripts written in Spanish. The contained the historical accounts of the country and also the legal documents which were already in the Philippine archive were all written in Spanish. I could speak Spanish during our college days and I could also write. But when I completed that subject in college, I could hardly remember it anymore for lack of practice.
