How did you accept your child/ren who didn't go to college?

Just because I completed college doesn't mean my children have to do the same. This issue continues today with parents desiring their children to pursue their education. We tell them all the good reasons and future benefits that may happen with a college degree. But how do we, as parents, deal with the fact that they just don't want to go to college?

What's your experience or of someone you know?

It is natural for parents to require a better life for their children than they themselves had. Going to college is one of those steps that is along the 'acceptable' path for school leavers nowadays and deviating from the norm may be frown upon. Personally my children would have to go to college or they would have to paint me a picture that maps out the career path they would venture along without going to college. It is important to point out to them the pluses of going to college and the drawbacks that may result in them not going. Looking at the statistics in my country college grads function better overall compared to those individuals who did not go, education builds a person not the opposite.
