Hello from Japan

こんにちは。初めまして。
I'm not honestly Japanese though. I just live here. Originally, I'm from America.

However, I believe that teaching is a universal art -- no matter the language or subject, the world needs great teachers. I've taught yoga and dance since I've been out of high school. I've tutored people in the English language and have helped friends with Japanese homework. On the side, I work as a freelance writer.

With that, I joined Edchat. Sometimes the creative well of how to explain something dries up or I'm feeling uncharacteristically bland and need some inspiration. This place is a gold mine. I can't wait to look through the topics, gain ideas, share experiences, and meet a lot of fabulous people.

Here's to the conversations we'll have!

Do you teach English in Japan? How long have you been there? I was looking into going to China or Japan to teach English. I know there is probably a book you could write but does anything stand out from your experience of getting over there to teach? Thanks in advance, welcome to the EdChat!
