Free condom for high school students vs HIV

Would you believe that there is a proposed law by the department of health to distribute free condoms to high school students of public schools? That is really outrageous and we are hoping that the health department people will stop in pursuing that initiative. Giving condoms to people is like telling them that they can have safe sex with no side effect of any disease or of getting pregnant. That is one silly proposal.

Most High school students are teenagers who are curious and loves seeking thrilling adventures and taking risks. Boys' testosterone level increases caused by their puberty, thus their libido increases. And since there is an internet and accessible everywhere, these curious teens inevitably open sites that should not be accessed by a group of people who are below 18 years old. And most teens lack self-discipline so it is indeed helpful that they should be given with condoms and sex education to prevent deadly diseases like AIDs and unwanted pregnancy which might lead to abortion.

I agree with you. Instead of teaching them to use condoms to have safe sex with no consequences, I believe it is better to instill prevention in the students' minds. This can be done by abstaining from sex before marriage. This saves on a lot of problems, diseases, and consequences, with no cost at all.

Our society is becoming liberated in terms of sex. It maybe of good advantage to give them protection for safety after all you can't always prevent them from doing so. It is a choice and mostly love to do it. But with the news and information spreading all over the world about HIV and other disease related to sex the people are becoming conscious and careful.

Free condom for high school students vs HIV: I am not go for giving free condom to different kind of school becuase doing such action for me is like pursuing them to do sex and not be afraid of doing it by just using a condom. I hope it will not happen maybe there's another reason why they plan to do it but still I won't agree on it

Providing condoms doesn't necessarily imply that the authorities are implicitly telling kids, "you can have some sex."

It's better to be safer than sorry. Teach kids about sex early in life so they know what they are getting themselves into should they decide to engage in the activity. Provide them with condoms because at least this can help prevent early pregnancies.

IMO schools shouldn't be the only ones whose the duty is teaching kids about sex. Parents should play their part. If they do it well then no one should be concerned about condoms being provided to students in school.

In or country, sex is a taboo. Even in schools where health education is mandatory and the heald education includes a chapter on sex, sex is not openly discussed. Culturally, sex outside the context of marriage is strictly prohibited, therefore, we cannot imagine even to talk about condoms let alone giving condoms.

I'm all for sex education for high school-aged students, but am against the proactive distribution of condoms. While they ought to know about the matter, that doesn't mean that they should automatically be given condoms. Theoretical knowledge, and ample warnings should be enough to turn the students away from engaging in sex. And should they wish to do so anyway, it should be up to them to buy condoms, and use the same. After all, condoms are now sold even in supermarkets and convenience stores. There's hardly an issue of accessibility in these modern times. Plus, the stigma of buying condoms has lessened these days.

Let's face it, our society is slowly accepting sex as a normal activity for young adults. It would be better to let them have safe sex rather than have them suffer for the consequences such as early pregnancy and sexually-transmitted diseases. There will come a time when our society becomes very liberated that even the adolescents are even doing sex.

I agree with what Bravosi said. This sex propaganda must be stopped and we wouldn't need condoms to give away to the students.

That was like our culture in the olden times when sex education was unheard of in school. Even parents do not discuss sex at home that the topic is like between the husband and wife only. But now it is the modern time when sex is a common topic that girls get pregnant outside of marriage and there is nary a shame on the situation. I am not really against sex education but with the distribution of condom I guess that is simply outrageous.

Condom for High School student is a big NO for me. Giving them the idea that condom is safe during sex making them more liberated and have sex more. And its sad to know that at the young age doing sex is not a serious matter.

Instead of going directly with this method, the government should at least give priority in giving proper sex education for the students. Through this, the student's become aware of various consequences caused by their premature actions. However, if things don't go well, I think this is a great method too since it would be better if they are being safe knowing that we cannot stop them if they are really set into doing it.

Using condoms just make people more liberated when it comes to sex because for many safety reasons but it doesn't mean it would 100% protect them from HIV or other illness that may occur to happen so the point of condoms is pretty useless because at the end of the day the most safest way to prevent these things to happen is to engage in sexual activity you are married to so that you are emotionally secure and safe from diseases.

Giving them free condom is like giving them a ticket to have a sex on their early age. Universities should focus on teaching the student what the right age is to have sex not teaching them how to avoid having hiv while having sex.

I agree, but there is a positive snd negative effect on it. It was bad for those who doesn't have any about it. It would trigger their curiosity and it was a stepping stone to actually did. The positive side was actually for their health and for those who are doing it. But at a very young age, It wasn't helpful because of their focus on their studies would be affected. They should learn the dangers about it to not giving a shot about it.
