Favorite artists?

Honestly, my favorite artists are amateurs or just ordinary people that don't necessarily have a big name. So that's why TAG is great for me. Seeing other people posting their works, from their very first drawing or picture to someone's 1000th piece that looks beautiful. It's inspiring to know that just every day people like myself out there are so talented and can do such amazing works. It makes me want to better myself, because I know not every is born with talent. Hard work and dedication can make you just as good!

I am really inspired by the sketches of Leonardo Da Vinci, although it may seem very stereotypical or mainstream, I found that his sketches were done to amazing detail given the amount of time he was allocated and the amount of sketches he did also was truly astonishing! Hope you may find inspiration from him also!

It may not be that original, but I really enjoy Vincent van Gogh's work. But you have to look at more than just The Starry Night, because he was many more excellent pieces. I like his style, though; if I were a painter, I would try to replicate that to some degree without outright copying it. I think what interests me most about his work is the story behind the man himself. I would recommend doing some background research on whoever you choose to look at--you never know what you may find out.

I've only recently seen the works of John Atkinson Grimshaw, I suppose he's a Victorian artist. I haven't seen such realistically surreal paintings before this. I love the way he captures a mood. I'm attaching one of his paintings, titled "Mystery in the Moonlight"

That is gorgeous. I think John Atkinson Grimshaw has a new admirer of his work. I need to go look up more of his pieces. Are they all of this nature? The more I look at it, the more I like it.

I am also quite the fan of Monet. I love the soft colors and dappled light he uses in his impressionism. It's all very calming.

Most of his works are like this, in the sense, he painted scenes from his everyday surroundings, yet infusing them with some kind of 'other worldliness'. There are several paintings by him of the Liverpool docks, they are a testimony to how art takes the ordinary, even the ugly and makes them beautiful. The docks don't look like docks, his paintings are simply magical!

I happen to like Monet's works too. :)

Does it ever happen to you to stick in front of a painting for a longer while and feeling like you are captured by it? To me it happened very rarely, but each time it was very intense. This is why i remember very good when it happened to me and definitely once was at the Thissen Musum in Madrid, i kept starring at Dali's "Ruin Anthropomorphic" for like 15 mins (awww.artistapsicoarte.com.br_IT6_17.jpg ). Following that day, i started feeling more and more interested into Dali's works and he has definitely become one of my favourite artists.

I absolutely love Mucha. His style is so beautiful, so inspiring, and the layout is always so perfect. If we're talking about more recent artists, I also love James Jean. He does a lot of the covers for Fables and his work is so inspiring and incredible. So much lush imagery in each piece.[DOUBLEPOST=1389232296][/DOUBLEPOST]I absolutely love Mucha. I'm a huge fan of Jamie Hewlett. His illustration work is nothing short of superb. I first saw his work when I started listening to the Gorillaz and I was blown away by how creepy and lifeless the characters look and how dynamic they were all at once. I fell in love. I then looked up his previous works and started reading Tank Girl, which is a spectacular comic series. The movie leaves a lot (a lot) to be desired, but it doesn't tarnish the original works in the least.

I really like europeaan artist form the 20th century. Like Mucha or Egon Schiele, I am also a big secession fan Gustav Klimt is on of my favourites.

I came across this painting by Christian Schloe while I was browsing the page of Berlin Artparasites. I think it's one of my favorite artworks out there. aartparasites.assets.eu_central.s3_eu_central_1.amazonaws.com_26397d3714ccc49b6f9ba6d49b0b38b0.jpg
