Dance competition

In this age of reality shows on tv I guess the dance competition will be fully appreciated by the students of the school. It is one way of camaraderie and bonding among the students. What if each class will have a representative for the school's dance competition? That would be a big deal especially for those students with talent in the field of dancing. It may not lead to something big but the activity will surely create interaction and camaraderie.

Our school has dance performances and they are definitely a way of getting students to band together to achieve something - an important life skill! It's also great for physical fitness which is something else we try to emphasize in the classroom.

I think that's a wonderful idea. Some schools already have such contests. Dancing influences body, mind and spirit in a positive way. It creates the sense of physical and psychological relaxation, it preserves optimism, it boosts confidence and is excellent way of interacting with others.

Well, it is very necessary for the School to encourage students with different types of extracurricular activities. All kinds of creative skills like singing, dancing, playing music, acting etc. should always be promoted in the School. Dancing is certainly a very creative skill which not only helps in enhancing the creativity in the students but also helps to keep them fit. Group dance and dance competitions will definitely help to appreciate the creativity in the students.

It's a productive way of motivating a child to interact among others. This will help develop their confidence and a challenge to do their best. It's also a way to expose their talent as a form of entertainment and socialization. It's also a great way to help or prefer a child's emotion to accept win or lose moments in competition. He needs to be competent physically, emotionally and morally.

It is a good idea to help students find there talent in dacing , it's a good for students to do something that can open up there minds , as means of being an extracurricular activity it can help refresh the students mind.

Hi,

Dance competition? This is good for the student to exile their fashion when it comes to dancing. It is also an achievement and accomplishment in every student and school. There's also a time when dance group is representing their school when it comes to competition.
If you are a dance group competitor or have an experience of having a troops or a group of dancers, you probably say it's a big NO for the student who can't even pass their subject or even don't a focus to their study. Having a dance routine who is set for competition, it will take 1-4 hours a day and 7 days a week of practice (vary on catching up routine) or even more. You will also consider when will the examination date and where's each member live (travel time).
Dance competition is one of the gateway to develop student skill and talent but there is always a pros and cons.
My opinion was just base on my experienced.

Thank you.

I believe that dance competition is good for students. They can show their hidden talents through it. I have participated in our school dance before but it was not for a competition. I enjoyed it very much.

This is a good idea. Dance competitions inculcate team spirit and students will have some time off from academics and make themselves feel free. The rehearsals will be fun and it would be good to see the students in various colored dresses.

I have a dance group before when I am a student. We have a lot of groups where we can choose from depends on our talent that we could share. There are also a lot of dance groups to choose from but we didn't compete to each other. We unite to compete with other schools. We could go through some auditions if we are qualified for some upcoming competitions. I could say that it was the best part of my life wayback when I am still a student and up to now, my group was still active and still compete with other school.

When I was a kid, there was a certain taboo associated with dancing. People appreciated dancing as long as it was limited to hobby and within the school and college. Howeve,r these days the taboo has vanished and people are choosing dancing as a career. Therefore, I believe schools should have dancing class so that interested students can learn dancing in the school. You can even send these kids to competitions and gain reputation for the school and the parents.

It is a great avenue for students to showcase their talents and enjoy their skills. It could also help divert their attention from negative influences and focus rather on healthy activities like such.

Talents need to be discovered and encouraged. However, one needs to keep in mind that these are extra curricular activities and they should be kept at that. It is possible for students to go overboard with these activities and lose focus on their studies. I prefer if the school keeps a week just for such activities and rewards best talents. I have found that this activity distracts the regular academic activities in school if it is in the middle of the school year

I agree on this. It is also one way of interacting to their co-students and build friendship for them to be more open and develop on the skills they have in thier self. Because some students just a shame to expose his/her talent and this dance competition it will be the way for them to share it and enjoy his/her self then.

Dance competition is one of the interesting and memorable learning experiences students have . The stress level is so high when a group or a class is preparing / practicing for the contest because of the need to perfect the steps . Added to that is the pressure of winning . But once the class wins , all their frustrations will surely go away. This kind of competition helps in developing strong rapport among students and their adviser . Adviser will use his / her resources and time to support his/ her students and act as their critique .

Dance competitions are a great way to build up an emotional resilience in a child. It enforces kids to gain emotional strength and to accept criticism and rejection gracefully. Moreover, the ability to accept tough critique helps children to deal with criticism and feedback in all aspects of life in future.
