Banter. Male friendship is usually characterized with light and fun banter. If we are able to make fun of ourselves and laugh, most likely everyone in the friend group feels comfortable. Another thing is knowing that we have one another's backing.
Showing genuine interest in the other person, listening actively, and being open-minded can also go a long way in establishing a strong foundation for a new friendship.
