What are some of your favorite musicals and/or plays? It's hard to pick for me but I really enjoy Chicago, The Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd, Repo: The Genetic Opera and The Rocky Horror Show as my musicals. My hands down favorite play is The Crucible by Arther Miller but I also enjoy Angels in America and Sexual Perversity in Chicago.

My absolute favorite musical is Spring Awakening, which is based off of Frank Wedekind's Frühlings Erwachen. It's such a perfect blend of 19th century acting and modern music. The only other musicals that even compare are The Rocky Horror Show, Bare: A Pop Opera, Anything Goes and Avenue Q. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of straight plays. The only one that I've seen, recently, that I cared for was Death Trap.

I love Wicked and Les Miserables! I got to see Wicked on Broadway when I got to go sing in NYC, and it was so amazing! :D

My favorite musical is The Phantom of the Opera. I remember the first time I heard the music. I was completely captivated! I fell in love and will never get over how the music makes me feel. I hope that I get to see it live one day.

I generally prefer the more dramatic musicals to the upbeat, happy go lucky type. My favorites include The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, and Rent. On the other hand, I really like Mamma Mia because of my recently discovered love for ABBA. I've seen a couple of local productions, but nothing on Broadway. I've seen Jesus Christ Superstar, Rent, The Sound of Music, West Side Story (twice), and possibly more that I've forgotten about.

My favorite musical is definitely 'West Side Story'. So much history and drama in it lol. But aside from that I also really love 'Mary Poppins' and 'Sound of Music'. I grew up watching those two over and over lol. To meet Julie Andrews one day is definitely a dream of mine. Wish me luck lol. When it comes to plays I really loved 'A Raisin in the Sun' by Lourraine Hansbury. Aslso read it in College. Watching that brought tears to my eyes. Ruby Dee did an excellent job in my opinion in the original version and Phylicia Rashad did wonders with the newer version.

My favorite musical would definitely be Les Miserables. Although I haven't seen it live, I've watched it multiple times online. I'm not sure if it's a Broadway show, but I've seen a spectacular production of The Wizard of Oz, which would definitely be my second favorite.

Phantom of the Opera has a special place in my heart. It was the first musical that I ever saw, I saw it in Toronto when I was about 12 years old. That same year, I watched a local theater company do their version of it. Needless to say, the music was stuck in my head for a long time.

I would definitely have to say that my favourite musical is Phantom of the Opera as well. If I had to name a second place though it would definitely have to be Repo: The Genetic Opera. Other than these, I haven't actually seen many musicals/plays, other than the ones that were done at my old high school.

Phantom of the Opera just captivated me from the beginning; it was definitely the story that did it.
Repo: I liked for the ideas behind it.

I don't know if it counts as a musical but my favorite would be the Blues Brothers movie(both of them). A lot of blues and rock and roll artists made cameos. My favorite being James Brown.

I love Phantom of the Opera, but I've never been able to see it live. There aren't many opportunities around where I live to see the bigger shows, and even though I've been to New York City twice I've never seen a Broadway show. One of these days I'll make sure to see one, though, if it's the last thing I do.

Hands down Phantom of the Opera, it's one of the most moving and extravagant musicals that I've ever seen. We even had a production of it back in school. I also rather like the Broadway production of Wicked, the untold story of the Witches of Oz. It's an interesting perspective, adapted from Stephen Schwartz's work.
