Mathster is a fantastic new maths resource allowing you to set online homework, create worksheets and IWB resources.

You can get a months subscription for free by going to the Mathster website.

xtramath.org is an excellent site for reinforcing basic math facts. It's timed practice each day and it's just enough to keep kids interested.

Bedtimemath.com is another fun site that parents can do at home with their kids.

I have heard of khan Academy and I had not registered with them. I guess I do not like to spend time on the tutoring sites often. I do like the interface on the site very simple.

Khan Academy is incredible! It offers a multitude of lessons in many subjects, not just math. And within those subjects, the lessons are conveniently and efficiently sorted by grade level and difficulty.

Thank you for sharing these resources guys! I can also recommend a few:
  • TedEd Math Videos. The videos tackle math in such a fun and novel way that you won't even notice that you're learning math already.
  • Mathsframe. The good thing about this site is it makes math easy to learn by incorporating it into games. They are free to play on desktop as well.
  • MathDude Podcast. For the auditory learners, this is a good way to learn math. Newbies and even experts in math enjoy this fun show that teaches the basics of math concepts.
Good luck!

I very much agree with the Khan Academy comments! The videos have been incredibly helpful for me - not just for math but also for other subjects such as biology, history, etc. The nice part is that the videos aren't just someone lecturing, there are visual aids too. Lately they also have exercises for students to try out. It's all very fun because you get trophies and achievements based on the videos you watch, that sort of thing. Students can easily get motivated!

If you're looking for a resource to simply check if your answers to math problems are correct, I would suggest Wolfram Alpha as well.
