This is a hands on activity for solidifying learning of 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional shapes. It can also be weaved into science and building structures.
Materials: Mini marshmallows and toothpicks
Students use toothpicks and marshmallows to create pyramids, rectangular prisms, cubes, etc. For younger children they can created simple squares or triangles.
Stick one end of toothpick into marshmallow, then put another marshmallow on other end. Stick another toothpick in, etc., until shape is enclosed.
