Although the game cards are associated with games that are not proper to be practiced by a child, the truth is that their graphic content could arouse the curiosity and interest of children to learn its use or utility.

If we give a different use to these cards, the child could familiarize with some numbers, count figures associated with that number, could even be interested in knowing how to obtain the results of adding the value of one card plus another card. and so on, similar things.

What is your opinion about it, would you agree on its use as an instrument of teaching and learning?
 
I've been using game cards myself, both when I was studying and teaching. Best part about it is the fact that children love cards for some reason. The whole concept of holding it and playing. That's how we have learned English.
 
Although there are other ways to learn it, I think gamecards is a very good idea. I remember that's how our teacher 15 years ago used to engage us into all sorts of activities and knowledge.
 
This reminds me of flashcards, a very useful learning resource, but I somehow doubt every student will apply it since it's more of a way to establish discipline in your studies, and let's face it, children being children, might not be up for that kind of diligence (nothing wrong with that, children need to play and have fun). I personally was introduced to flashcards in elementary school but didn't really cared about the concept. However, now I'm an adult, and as a self-learner I've come to use flashcards often, but in a digital form. I use Anki, a flashcard software that allows you to make cards and freely customize them. You can also use cards made by others if you need a pre-made learning material. I think I made a post about it here, by the way.
 
Maybe one can make his/her own game cards that are good for that particular age range of the student. One can find lots of free images that could be used.

I agree with you. It is a good instrument for teaching and learning. What is bad for game card is gambling. It is when you focus in earning money through gambling. But the game cards per se is not bad. It is bad I think if used to earn money from others through the use of gambling.

I agree with you. I think flash cards is much better than game cards. Game cards are much associated with gambling. It is used mostly in gambling. It is good if it is used for entertainment by the magicians. Flash cards is the fittest instrument of learning and teaching.

Hi Jeffreyjose, Thank you for your opinion, it is very good to be able to know other good points of view, in agreement with you that the bad thing is to use this type of instruments in activities that are not the most correct for children.
